What goes into each rubber mat, sheet or compound is just as important as the product itself. We do not use materials which are hazardous to the environment and are dangerous in terms of occupational exposure during production. In this regard, we have been accredited with internationally recognized certifications such as REACH and RoHS, as well as California Proposition 65, which prohibits the use of over 900 harmful chemicals. As an ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 14064-1:2018 accredited company, Microcells strives to make the greenest rubber products and reduce the environmental impact of our operations. A large portion of the raw materials used in our production are from eco-friendly sources such as natural rubber, recycled rubber and bio- based fillers. These alternatives help mitigate environmental impact by conserving resources and reducing our carbon footprint during production, where materials that can be sourced locally in Sri Lanka are prioritized. Sustainable rubber products also improve biodegradability and recyclability, fostering a circular economy.
The new European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) aims to combat deforestation by imposing stricter requirements on supply chain transparency for various commodities entering the EU, including natural rubber products. At Microcells, we recognize the importance of complying with the EUDR and are actively implementing practices that align with these regulations. Our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility is further strengthened by our dedication to meeting these new standards. By working with Microcells, you're partnering with a company that prioritizes reducing environmental impact, conserving resources, and promoting sustainability at every stage of production.
