Guide to Electrical Insulation Flooring Products
Why Use Electrical Insulation Flooring? Working with high voltage electrical equipment is extremely risky, especially when safety precautions are not taken. Considering this fact, it is no surprise that electrocution is considered as one of the leading causes of death in work environments. Using high quality electrical insulation flooring products or switchboard matting will not only mitigate this risk, but will also reduce interruptions to workflow and exposure to lawsuits. Furthermore the use of electrical insulating material is being made mandatory by an increasing number of governing bodies to comply with occupational health and safety. How Insulating Flooring Offer Protection …
The New Autoclavable Anti-fatigue Mat: Comfort in Sterile Environments
We at Microcells are happy to introduce to you our new autoclavable anti-fatigue rubber mat with antimicrobial properties. These contamination control mats provide comfort to those standing for extended periods of time in sterile environments, such as hospitals, operating theatres and laboratories. Our product successfully passed the ISO 7218:2007 Amd 1:2013 (Clause 5.6.2) autoclave sterilization protocol, which put our mat through 52 autoclave cycles (each cycle lasting 20 minutes) at 121°C or 250°F. The prolonged exposure to such high temperatures ensures that all harmful pathogens are eliminated. Our mat successfully withstood the multiple autoclave cycles with no surface deformations, and …
New Certifications for Antimicrobial and Electrical Insulation Products
Microcells is pleased to announce that we have just gained ASTM G21 and ASTM D178 certifications for our rubber mat and sheeting product lines! ASTM G21 is an antimicrobial standard which basically determines the resistance of our polymer based products to fungal growth. The tests for this standard exposes the polymer products (in this case our rubber flooring products) to a wide variety of microbial species, ranging from common environmental fungi to agricultural pathogens. After long term exposure, a rating score from 0 to 4 is given based on the amount of microbial growth on the material, and we are …
Helping to fight the Covid-19 Pandemic
With the increased risk of catching the extremely infectious Covid-19 virus, contamination control has become a priority for everyone. The virus can remain on most surfaces for multiple days, which is a worrying fact for all of us, especially as many countries come out of the recently enforced restrictions and lock-downs. Prevention is the best form of defense. Most of the preventative efforts worldwide have been focused on limiting exposure, and contamination control plays a vital role in this drive. Microcells clearly understands that contamination control has a huge role to play in the fight against Covid-19, and our sanitizing …
